ABOUT RICE & FLOWER

Rice & Flower is a New York–based buttercream flower cake design studio, founded in 2017 and recognized for pioneering refined floral cake artistry in the region. Each cake is thoughtfully composed to balance delicate flavor with visual elegance, using the highest-quality ingredients and meticulously hand-piped buttercream florals.

Designed for intimate celebrations and special occasions, our creations bring a sense of artistry and refinement to the table. In addition to custom cakes, our studio offers a curated range of classes, guiding students of all levels in mastering the techniques of buttercream flower design.

About seyun

Seyun is the founder and creative director behind Rice & Flower. With a background in both fine art and lighting design, she approaches cake as a study of form, color, and composition—where all come together in each piece.

Inspired by impressionist painting and her studies at Parsons School of Design, her work reinterprets floral design through buttercream, creating cakes that feel both delicate and expressive. Each creation is individually crafted, with hand-piped petals and a nuanced approach to color and structure. Her work has been featured in NBC, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, and New York Magazine. Selected clientele includes Chanel, Gucci, New York Bridal Fashion Week, and Meghan Markle. Seyun continues to share her expertise as a guest instructor at New York University.
